The poetry of Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865-1930) is quite familiar to the Russian reader, primarily due to numerous and noteworthy translations, the first of which appeared during the poet's lifetime and have since become an integral part of Russian culture. This collection, representing Kipling's poetry in two languages, along with well-known ones, also includes new translations that more fully reflect the historical and philosophical lines in the poet's work.
