The tutorial covers modern pattern recognition methods: the classic Bayesian approach, parametric and non-parametric classification methods, neural networks, genetic algorithms and simulation modeling methods. Particular attention is paid to the practical issues of applying the theory to solving the problems of classification of radar images formed in synthetic aperture radar systems (SAR), as well as optimal signal processing in SAR under the influence of interference.
