In this tutorial, we will take a quick look at the basic language constructs and the most commonly used functions from the standard library. We will not try to cover everything - you can easily find the missing facts in the reference documentation. The focus will be on the packages used in scientific computing - numpy, scipy, matplotlib and sympy. They implement classical numerical algorithms for solving equations, linear algebra problems, calculating certain integrals, approximation, solving differential equations and their systems.
