This collection is the first consolidated edition of poetic fairy tales (short stories) - a genre popular in Russian literature in the second half of the 18th - first third of the 19th centuries. The collection includes 296 works belonging to seventy-three authors. The texts of the works placed in the collection are given, as a rule, according to the last lifetime publication.
