The story acquaints the reader with military life and soldier service in the peacetime of our days. The main character of the story, Kesha Kiselev, belongs to that part of the youth, which in recent years is usually called difficult. Everything that happens on the pages of books and is seen through his eyes and felt from his life position. However, the event outline of the story, becoming the human experience of the hero, changes him. Service in the Soviet Army becomes a good school for Private Prince, harsh, but fair, and ultimately kind.
