The book is dedicated to the turbulent events of the nineties of the twentieth century - the dramatic division of the territory of the Yugoslav Federation, the birth of new societies in Eastern Europe. It analyzes the events associated with the collapse of a multinational state and the creation of new states on its basis, examines the origins of the crisis, the essence of military clashes in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, interethnic contradictions in other parts of the Balkans, the first steps of the existence of independent states.
