F. Blatt's book outlines the physics of kinetic phenomena in solids. The main goal of the author is to give a single and closed picture of transport phenomena in metals and semiconductors. This task is perfectly solved. The book contains a wonderful and accessible (but not at the expense of rigor) exposition of the subject.
