The first complete modern special domestic study of the famous war at sea between Great Britain and the United States of America in 1812-1815. We can rightfully say that the theme of the Anglo-American war of 1812-1815 for Russian historiography was obscured by Napoleon's campaign in Russia and the foreign campaign of the Russian army. This topic in Russian is presented quite pale, in fact, we can say that the naval part of the events is most often presented in the books of Alfred-Thayer Mahan, while the economic aspect is considered exclusively from the point of view of American historical science. We decided to eliminate this offensive discrepancy and write a book about the Anglo-American War of 1812-1815. Contemporaries nicknamed it "Zero war," as it ended with recognition of the pre-war status quo of both powers. We tried to reveal different aspects of the war - economic, political, military, etc. The book describes all the main naval battles of the "Zero War," made a serious attempt to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the opposing fleets, raised issues of shipbuilding and manning ships.
