Mark Gein's Japanese Diary shows United States policy in the Far East during the early years of the occupation of Japan. M. Hein is an American journalist. He was well acquainted with the Far East and had traveled to various East Asian countries before the war. Shortly after the surrender of Japan, he came to this country as a special correspondent for the Chicago Sun.
