A book of brief historical information about the Kuban Cossack army was published in 1888 for the arrival of Emperor Alexander III with the August family in the city of Yekaterinodar. A copy of this book, in a specially made velvet binding, was presented to the Tsarevich, Ataman of all Cossack troops of Russia, the future emperor Nikolai Alexandrovich.
