This edition is a collection of selected works of the Soviet travel writer Grigory Fedoseyev. Grigory Fedoseev is the author of fascinating books about the nature of the North and the Far East, he described the nature of these regions of the earth, their flora and fauna, indigenous people, as well as the difficulties faced by expeditions on the way to the goal. Fedoseyev's books present the life and traditions of the local population, camping life, hunting for bighorn sheep and the dangers faced by the author and his comrades. All stories are written in the first person, but in such a way that almost nowhere is the name of the author found and he himself, as an actor, remains in the background. Thanks to Fedoseev, the merits of Sergei Trifonov - Ulukitkan were recognized. It was Ulukitkan, as a guide, who led many expeditionary units along impassable routes and eventually died. Ulukitkan's life was cut short during a fire at one of the parking lots. These events are described in detail in Fedoseyev's work "The Last Bonfire." All works are based on the diaries of the pioneer, which Fedoseyev compiled during the campsites. They have virtually no false names: the identities of Ulukitkan and other surveyors-scouts are reproduced with biographical accuracy.
