The book presents the epic legends of the Shors, a small Turkic people living in the south of Western Siberia. All works are an excerpt from the legend "The lowest of the Khan-Pergen khans" in the self-recording of S.S. Torbokov (1900-1980), as well as the legends "Kara-Khan riding a black horse," "Khan-Mergen riding a forty-rooted dark-nightingale horse" and "Kyun not seeing the Sun Koyok" in self-recordings V.E. Tannagasheva (1932-2007) - published for the first time. The publication of texts and translations is accompanied by introductory articles, ethnolinguistic notes and comments.
