The purpose of this study is to study the social, economic and craft practices that accompanied the life and work of the artisan in the city and the links with handicrafts in the old industrial areas. The study is aimed at identifying changes in the sociocultural appearance of the St. Petersburg artisan after the introduction of workshops and during proto-industrialization and industrialization, which affected many branches of handicraft and handicraft production.
