Did Oscar Wilde write much or little in his short and tragic life? A collection of poetry, one novel, less than a dozen plays, even fewer poems, several short stories and short stories, cycles of articles and poems in prose... Wilde was a marvellous conversationalist. He generously endowed others with amazing stories, not bothering to publish them, but even write them down. However, the nine tales he told his sons were published after all. Six of them are presented in this book. In Russia, children learned Wilde's tales thanks to the translations of a great admirer of the writer's talent and connoisseur of his work, Mikhail Likiardopulo. And perhaps, if Oscar Wilde had not written anything else, two books of his fairy tales ("The Happy Prince" and "Pomegranate House") would have been quite enough for the name of the English writer to be included in the golden fund of literature.
