The essence of test theory is revealed, the continuity and differences of its classical and modern versions are shown. An introduction to measurement theory is outlined. Statistical concepts in testing theory are presented. An introduction to scaling is given, the process of designing tests is shown. The concept of reliability is disclosed in the context of the classical concept of true evaluation and the development of procedures for evaluating the fairness of tests. The problem of test validity is highlighted and ways to solve it are outlined.
