"Nal and Damayanti," a poem by the famous Russian poet of the first half of the 19th century Vasily Andreevich Zhukovsky (1783-1852), appeared for the first time as a separate book in 1844. Like many other works of V.A. Zhukovsky, this poem is a free author's transcription into Russian of the poetic language of the Indian folk story about Nala and Damayanti.
