The great epic poem "Yugorno" by A. Spiridonov is one of the most significant works created in the republic over the past decades. Written in Russian, it nevertheless with great love, fully and accurately reveals the Mari national character, its humanistic principles. In terms of scale, orientation, proximity to folklore, it is rightfully called an epic - a poetic encyclopedia of the life of the people.
