The second book in the The Protocols Trilogy chronicles the time beginning with the invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939, and concluding on June 21, 1941, the day before the German invasion of the Soviet Union. Like all the books in the series, The War In Europe Begins tells the story through excerpts taken from news and feature articles, radio and film transcripts, speeches, memoirs, diaries and other historical documents recorded on the day, or near the day, the events to which they refer occurred. The entries are woven into a narrative of voices, both familiar and obscure, offering a fresh perspective on this critical historical period. The author's hope is that the excerpts will inspire the readers to read the documents in their entirety. He makes no claim to be a historian. He is a member of Beta Phi Mu, the international honors society for library and information studies and a former finalist for New York City Teacher of the Year. His intention is to serve the interests of the community by presenting them with documents, often overlooked, of lasting historical importance relevant to the times in which we live.
