The history of world tank building knows few examples when designers used a multi-tower scheme (three or more towers) in the design of combat vehicles. The most famous of them are the five-turret Independent and T-35 tanks, as well as the three-turret Vickers 16-ton, NbFz and T-28. Some of them remained in prototypes, others were produced in limited quantities (from three to 60 units). And only one car - the Soviet medium three-turret tank T-28 was made in a series of half a thousand pieces. For its time, the T-28 was a machine with high combat and technical characteristics. The tank proved itself well during the Soviet-Finnish war, operating in a harsh snowy winter on the Karelian Isthmus. Despite the fact that by the beginning of World War II the three-tower scheme was considered outdated and obsolete, in the summer of 1941, the "twenty-eighth," with competent use, could successfully fight any Wehrmacht armored vehicles.
