The catalog-directory on the basis of systematized documentary materials of the period 1938-1992 objectively traces the history of the establishment, awarding and presentation of certificates for medals of the USSR. Medal certificates are classified by type and variety. The text gives a detailed description of them with an indication of the degree of rarity and provides 740 color images from 532 studied certificates. The periods of serial and number ranges are traced in detail.
