The first part of the textbook contains information about the subject and main content of pharmaceutical chemistry, history, problems and prospects of its development, classification, sources and methods for producing medicinal substances, theoretical foundations of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical analysis. In the second part of the textbook, much attention is paid to the general characteristics of each group of medicinal substances. The relationship between the chemical structure, properties and pharmacological action of a number of medicinal substances is considered. Information concerning the methods of preparation, properties of each group of medicinal substances, methods of identification, purity tests, quantitative determination, storage and application in medical practice is summarized.
