The name of the founder of the Brokar & Co Partnership determined the name of the style of Ukrainian embroidery in the second half of the 19th - first half of the 20th centuries. Brokarovsky style is an era in Ukrainian folk art. Especially popular was the French rose on millimeter paper, from which it was easy to transfer the drawing with cross-stitching to a homespun canvas. The rose was embroidered usually with red and black threads, sometimes multi-colored. It became the most popular element of embroidery and gradually began to supplant other elements of floral ornamentation. The popularization of cross embroidery, of course, negatively influenced the development of other embroidery techniques, but this period accompanied the popularization of the rose as a flower.
