The purpose of the dissertation is to identify and analyze the characteristic features of the relationship between the ranks of the Separate Corps of Gendarmes with officials of various departments, the public, the press, representatives of anti-government organizations; reconstruction of society's perception of the activities of the ranks of the Separate Gendarme Corps and comparison with the real facts of the gendarme service.
