The issues of improving the reliability and ensuring the safety of operation of electrical networks with a voltage of 380 V under single-phase short circuits were considered. Methods of theoretical and experimental research using experimental electric network, physical and computer models are described. A new method for arranging the means of protection of an overhead line with a voltage of 380 V during single-phase short circuits by sectioning it is presented.
