Anastasia Drobina is our contemporary. Nevertheless, it was she who managed to recreate the life of gypsy choirs in literature. This is not to say that the choral gypsies are offended by the attention of writers. Back in the 19th century, Russian poets and writers paid tribute to this topic, since they experienced the enchanting power of gypsy art. Still, it was an outside experience. Until now, no one has been able to show the choral environment from the point of view of the gypsies themselves. Four novels by Anastasia Drobina, published between 2005 and 2007, filled this niche.
