The book is based on real events and describes real crimes - murders, robberies, poisoning, scams, acts of pyromaniacs and maniacs. But he does this not in the context of the investigators' report on the work done, but in the context of ordinary life - the incompetence of the people conducting the investigation, the impossibility of collecting evidence, the influence of politics on the course of the investigation.
