The collection of scientific articles is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Russian historian N.E. Nosov (1924-1985). The collection includes scientific and biographical materials about N. E. Nosov; articles and publications covering the key problems of the history of pre-revolutionary Russia - the relationship between power and society, the history of estates and social groups, the history of state institutions, reforms and counter-reforms, issues of historiography and source study, and other problems. The articles of the collection, written by domestic and foreign historians, give a modern view of the problems under study, offer new methods and approaches to the study of discussion issues.
