The book of short stories "Ordinary Arctic" was first published by the publishing house "Soviet Writer" in 1940. It included 18 stories written in 1936-1940 based on the impressions received by the writer (correspondent of Pravda) during the winter on Dixon in 1935 and the flight along the Northern Sea Route in 1936. In subsequent editions, three stories ("The Laundress Fell Ill," "On a Winter Night" and "The Case of the Forecaster") were excluded by the author from the book.
