In the winter of 1895, the specific department entrusted me with the task of accompanying, as a naturalist-geographer, the expedition he had commissioned to study the tea areas of Asia. This trip gave me the opportunity to stay in the most interesting areas of India, Ceylon, China and Japan and return home through America, thus making a trip around the world.
