S. Liefar's book about Diaghilev is a bibliographic rarity (published in Paris in 1939 in Russian in the amount of 615 copies). An outstanding dancer and choreographer, a regular employee of Diaghilev since 1923 and his close friend. S. Lifar began working on a book about Sergei Pavlovich shortly after his death in 1929.
