Boris Evdokimovich Shcherbina - Hero of Socialist Labor, Minister of Construction of Oil and Gas Industry Enterprises of the USSR, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, in 1951-1973 he headed first the Irkutsk, then the Tyumen Regional Party Committee, the formation and development of the country's fuel and energy complex is associated with his name. In April 1986, he headed the Government Commission for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Chernobyl Accident, and in December 1988, the Commission for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Terrible Earthquake in Armenia. It organically combined the qualities of a great politician and a brilliant organizer, which allowed him to become not only an outstanding person, but also a major political figure.
