The book contains twenty-six articles and essays written by the old Bolsheviks - participants in the Great October Socialist Revolution and the Civil War in the Southern Urals. In articles and essays, the authors describe the formation of Soviet power and the initial period of the civil war in the Urals, the struggle of workers, the peasant and Cossack poor with the "blowing," white-faced, kulak and White Guard rebellions in 1917-1918. The book contains rich material on the formation of combat detachments to combat counter-revolution in the Urals and their subsequent transformation into companies, battalions, regiments and divisions of the regular Red Army. A number of essays and articles describe the legendary 1,500-kilometer campaign of detachments of South Ural partisans in the rear of the White Guard troops, replete with numerous episodes of hostilities and examples of mass heroism of the Red Guard partisans. The book contains many specific historical facts and having the first heroes of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the civil war in the Urals. Many events and facts covered in the work are published for the first time.
