By decision of the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Institute of Marxism-Leninism is entrusted with the task of preparing for publication the minutes and shorthand reports of all congresses and conferences of our party. Unlike the subsequent 1st Congress of the RSDLP, it left behind no protocols, no more or less exhaustive records. Therefore, instead of the minutes of the first congress of the RSDLP, the Institute of Marxism-Leninism prepared a collection of documents and materials covering the history of the convocation and holding of the congress, inextricably linked with the history of the struggle of revolutionary Marxists in Russia, headed by V. I. Lenin, for the creation of a new type of party.
