The collection offered to the reader was prepared mainly by the staff of the Department of Slavic-Finnish Archeology of the Institute of the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is devoted to the problems of archeology, history and culture of Northern Russia, especially ancient Ladoga, as well as international trade and cultural relations of Russia and neighboring countries.
