The book is devoted to the theory of black and white reportage photography. First of all, the problems of photographic composition, or rather, the role of composition in the work of the photographer. In this regard, the book addresses issues of the psychology of visual perception, including eye movement when perceiving a flat image. The specifics of photography, the relationship between documentary and artistic photography, the construction of the image language are considered.
