This book by a major Russian linguist S. D. Katznelson (1907-1985) analyzes the teachings of the Swiss linguist Ferdinand de Saussure on significance, as well as the neo-Humboldtian vision of the world; at the same time, an understanding of the semantic system of the language is proposed, different from that of Saussure and Neo-Humboldtianism.
