Having created the world's best (for that time) and one of the first in Europe observatory Uraniborg on the small island of Ven near Copenhagen and installed improved astronomical instruments in it, the best for the pre-telescopic period, he conducted systematic observations of celestial bodies for more than twenty years, distinguished by exceptional accuracy, made a number of important astronomical discoveries on this basis.
