This book is dedicated to the first armored development in the United States after World War II. In it, we consider the features of the history of post-war tank design in America and describe the main models of armored vehicles. Based on combat experience, the American command in 1946 adopts an extensive program for the improvement of tanks and their units. The prerequisites were: reducing the size, weight and standardization of spare parts in order to increase the possibility of using tanks in a variety of climatic zones and terrain conditions with minimal use of accessories, to increase the simplicity of field repair and maintenance in general, as well as to achieve savings in the manufacture of tanks. The assigned tasks define the features of future combat vehicles.
