The book is devoted to the themes of carnival and carnivalization in the language system and language practices - in journalistic discourse, Internet communication, advertising, in artistic texts, folklore. It summarizes the results of reports and discussions within the framework of the conference of the same name of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian State Humanitarian University, held in 2013. In cultural and linguistic comparisons, the authors turn to the material of Russian and other languages: Belarusian, Polish, German, Japanese, Sanskrit, to the traditions and texts of other language cultures.
