Fundamentals of theory, calculation and design of air-jet engines are considered. Basic theoretical provisions on gas turbine engine as thermal machine and as propulsor are presented. The issues of efficiency of working processes, conditions of joint operation of nodes and characteristics of gas turbine engines are considered. Attention is paid to modern methods of designing aircraft gas turbine engines, promising engine concepts, including hybrid and electric power plants.
