This memoir was published in Harbin in 1941 and did not reach the domestic reader. It is an important historical document. First, a group of conspiratorial officers travels from Moscow to the Urals to free members of the Tsar's family. The following describes the almost incredible adventures of underground workers that lasted six months in the rear of the Red Army, as a result of which they create a partisan detachment, defeat the superior forces of the Chekists with military cunning and liberate the city in which the author of the story finds a life partner and begins his journey in the White Army. The publication is accompanied by scientific commentaries based on historical sources, illustrations and maps, as well as a biographical sketch of N.A. Protopopova.
