The era of Joseph Stalin" is not so much about the gastronomic predilections of the Generalissimo, but about that part of the history of Russian vodka that occurred during his reign. Under Stalin, the Prohibition of 1914 was abolished and under it the Prohibition was introduced in the United States, repeating Russian mistakes. Alcohol was taken away from the American people, and it was returned to the USSR. Under Stalin, they lost the legendary vodka "Smirnov" (in 1933 it became American), but they created the Soviet "Stolichnaya."
