Progressive minds have always worried about the global problems of our time and the sustainable development of our earthly technogenic human civilization. The industrial (engineering) path of human development dates back about 2 million years: from the invention by ancient engineers of stone tools and fire, with the help of which they began to cook food, to the present days, when they invented a launch vehicle and artificial intelligence. And we are now offered as an alternative to the impending death of human civilization in our home - on planet Earth, where the limits of growth and the carrying capacity of the biosphere are supposedly reached - to master someone else's and distant Mars.
