The textbook corresponds to the disaster medicine curriculum for medical students. It provides modern information on the organization of medical support for the population in emergency situations of peacetime and wartime. In separate topics, issues are considered that are devoted to: the organizational structure and tasks of the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and the All-Russian Disaster Medicine Service; organization of medical evacuation, sanitary and hygienic and anti-epidemic measures in emergency situations; medical and medical-psychological protection of the population and rescuers; medical supplies to institutions and formations of the disaster medicine service; providing medical care to the population in armed conflicts and local wars. The textbook can be used by teachers of medical universities for the preparation of educational and methodological literature and students for independent work.
