The manual covers the history of the development of Russian literature in the first half of the 19th century. Each chapter includes a holistic ideological and aesthetic analysis of the leading works of classic writers. A detailed description of the literary trends, genre features of the works under consideration, etc. is given. In accordance with the current program, a separate chapter has been introduced into the book dedicated to the work of A.A. Bestuzhev-Marlinsky.
