"Roman Republic" - the third volume of the cycle "Ancient World" by Zelinsky; the name that the author gave this part is significantly narrower than its content. The scientist in the "Roman Republic" vividly and fascinatingly describes not only the history of Rome from its very emergence from a small shepherd village until the fall of the Republic, but at least partially sets out the history of a number of states of the Mediterranean range, which in turn fell into the orbit of Rome's interests - Carthage, Pergamum, Syria, Egypt and Greek cities and unions.
