St. Petersburg, 1871. Detective police official Arseniy Yablochkov is investigating the disappearance of young Kapa Gnevysheva and the murder of her brother Kostik. The search leads him to a country house in one of the suburbs, where he finds the bloody handkerchief of the missing girl.
