The world today is alive to the danger of nuclear war. In almost every part of the globe the USSR and the USA are more or less in open conflict. Neither side is prepared to make the slightest concession to the other. Both have vast vested interests maintained by an ever- expanding military machine that makes a mockery of talk about arms control and detente.
