The purpose of the study is to clarify the features of the historical development of settlement structures and the administrative "arrangement" of Pogorinnya at the end of the 5th - middle of the 16th century. and substantiate the influence of natural and ethnopolitical factors on the formation of units of the territorial organization and the dynamics of spatial changes.
