The Book of W. Fuchs and E. Hillary are the processed diaries of the first land crossing of Antarctica in human history. Starting from Shackleton Station, on the Weddel Sea, in November 1957, the Transantarctic Expedition, overcoming incredible difficulties, reached the South Pole, and then by March 1958 completed the journey on the other side of the sixth continent - at Scott Station, on the shores of the Ross Sea.
